Autumn Gala: Telling Our Story Around the Table
Friday, September 5, 2025 - Churchill’s Berea, Kentucky
Join Berea Home Village for our 2025 Autumn Gala - an evening of shared stories, delicious food, and meaningful support for our mission: helping older Bereans thrive at home.
Our theme, “Telling Our Story Around the Table,” honors the voices, histories, and traditions that bring us together. We’ll gather for a heartfelt Farm to Fork dinner, listen to inspiring words and music, and raise vital funds to continue our work throughout the coming year.
Featuring Kentucky Poet Laureate
Crystal Wilkinson
We are thrilled to welcome Crystal Wilkinson as our featured speaker. A celebrated author, poet, and Kentucky’s first Black woman Poet Laureate, Crystal's work is steeped in family, food, place, and storytelling—perfectly aligned with the spirit of our evening.
She is the author of "Praisesong for the Kitchen Ghosts," a memoir with recipes that explores generational memory, healing, and love through food and Black Appalachian heritage.
Come hear her story, and celebrate the power of our shared experiences around the table.
Special thanks to Berea College for their role in bringing Crystal Wilkinson to Berea.
